ok fine.. i don't know the song! but they were playing it over and over again toay in midvalley! got really annoying up to the point where we had to sneak away to gardens to get away from it. =P
yes, it's that time of year again where everyone hang up their flags! big or small, on their house or on their cars, one flag or a hundred flags! it's our independence day again! =)
is it just me or are people putting up less malaysian flags this year? i use to remember cars (especially taxis) being covered in those mini malaysian flags that u stick onto cars. but this year, i barely see any! maybe a few here and there, they can be spotted if u look for them. nothing compared to our previous years! a friend of mine even suggested that it's because "everyone give up on malaysia already" how sad is that!? =( hope it's just cause everyone has other things on their minds, like the by-elections and other politics stuff. really miss seeing all the flags all over the place =( that was one of the things i was looking forward to this summer.. oh well, i guess waking up early tomorrow to watch the parade would suffice.
tonight was merdeka's eve. alot of people go out drinking on this eve.. not sure why. don't see any connection between alcohol and clubbing with our independence day. i mean, i would understand new year's eve.. but the eve of merdeka? probably just an excuse for alot fo people to go out drinking. =P i know i used that excuse last year, and that didn't turn out too well.. =( it was a really bad night out... probably why i don't wanna celebrate on the eve of merdeka anymore.
it was even the last day that i would want to drink for a month! you see... i'm planning to go sober throughout the whole of Ramadhan (obviously.. and i will blog more about this tomorrow) i was really looking forward to drinking tonight, until i woke up this morning and noticed tonight was also merdeka eve. no way i was gonna go out tonight! oh well.. no more drinking for me!! (for a month at least =P)
instead i went out to watch Babylon AD with Sara.. man.. the movie was crap.. and we actually paid 20 bucks to watch it in gsc signature! damn them!! i got cheated for my 20 bucks.. wish we watched a nicer movie, >=( but they were really good seats!! =)
the rest of the night was spent wandering around Damansara Heights in the car.. aimlessly driving to whereever we felt like going. blasting the music really loud and singing along to pop and towards the end we even sang along to some classic rock! sadly we barely knew the lyrics.. ahahah. it was fun though trying to figure it out. =P
And that's how i quietly spent my merdeka eve.. =)
i am gonna try sleep in tomorrow, but i have the feeling my family would wake me up to watch the parade in the morning. oh well.. it is a once a year thing. might as well enjoy it. =)
